KYC Commodore, Jim Stepchew:

Welcome to new members and guests.

Yeoman, Denise Spurlock:

Not present. Reading of last month’s meeting minutes was waived. Minutes from last meeting are available on website and hard copy.

Vice Commodore, Mark Long:

No Report

Purser, Denise Decoster:

We have $10,159.49 in our account. Just paid a big Ship’s Store bill, $5400.00. Get your receipts for re-imbursement.

Quartermaster, Michael Nast:

Not present.

Ship’s Store Report:

There are new items in store- ladies tank tops. Rich will put another order in for Christmas rush. There is a close-out on hats 5.00!  Rich will order more glassware-wants to change KYC logo design and appreciates any input.

Race Chairman, Mike Turner:

Re-schedule Sat. race. 1st Sunday race in August had 4 boats participating- shortened course, winds were down. Make up tournament tomorrow-not many boats- open for suggestions.

Cruise Chairman-of-the-Month:

B-B-Q on Roi following Chili cook-off. About 6 boats going up to Roi.

Webmaster, David Dethlefsen:

Not present.

Sunfish king, Monte:

Sunfish regattas on Sept.23rd, noon-6pm, need help setting up and cleaning up.

OLD BUSINESS

·        Last month a motion was made to donate $1000.00 to new youth minister- majority of board not present, so it was decided to put it to vote via email.  Commodore sent out motion for e-mail vote.  Motion was rejected.

NEW BUSINESS

·        Voted to donate $100.00 to buy toothbrushes for Ebeye school kids when the dentist goes to teach mouth hygiene and good tooth care.

·        Two-man kayak donated by Marian Naretto and John Sowden

·        Roi Regatta: there are still 2 rooms available in Spartan (no kids) but all transportation is sold out.

·        October 21st is the Swashbuckler’s Ball. Mark Long is the chairman and in charge of games.

·        Need to come to next meeting with nominating committee.
