The Kwajalein Yacht Club met on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 6:55pm

KYC Commodore, Jim Stepchew:

Off Island. Meeting led by Mike Nast. Welcome to all new members and guests. Thanks to Brynn and Gary for providing our meal.

Yeoman, Denise Spurlock:

Minutes from the last meeting were waved and are available on the website and hard copy.  

Vice Commodore, Mark Long:

Not present.

Purser, Denise Decoster:

Not present. We have approximately $15,800.00 in our account.

Quartermaster, Michael Nast:

Please come join us for happy hour and the best sunset on island on Thursday nights!

Ship’s Store Report, Richard Russel:

Not present.

Race Co-Chairman, Mike Turner:

We had 6 boats participate in last Sunday’s race and only 2 in Saturday evening race.

Next race is Sunday, August 5 with the skipper’s meeting at 1300 at the SBM.

August 18 will be the Saturday evening race. Please file your float plan with harbor Control. Race begins at 1700.

Cruise Chairman of the Month, Rick Goltz:

Reminder that the Roi Regatta/Chili Cook-off is Sept.7-9.

There will be an over-night trip planned to Bigej.

NEW BUSINESS:

Rick Funk came to talk to us about a donation for the new youth minister coming to Kwaj. Questions were asked and answered by Rick regarding the particulars and a motion was made by Dave D. that the club donate $1000. 00; was seconded, and everyone was in favor; however the decision was made to wait until the entire board was present. Private donations can be made as well as club donations.
