The Kwajalein Yacht Club met on Saturday, June 30th, 2007.
Commodore, Jim Stepchew:
Welcome to all! Thanks to Henry and Trace and Jim for the food tonight.
Yeoman, Denise Dorn:
A motion was made and approved to waive reading of the previous meeting’s minutes. The minutes are available via hardcopy or on the KYC website.
Vice Commodore, Mark Long:
We now have a total of 111 members, with new members joining tonight.

I will be leaving Friday, August 4th for vacation. If you don’t have your membership cards by then, you will have to wait until I return. In the mean time, if you plan on going off-island and need verification of your membership in our club, please come see me and we will provide you with a letter that should suffice.
Purser, Denise DeCoster:
Not present, however club account is very healthy.
Quartermaster, Michael Nast:
Please come out and join us for Thursday Happy Hour and a beautiful sunset.
Ship's Store Report, Richard Russell:
New cozy’s and beer mugs are in and additional shirts are on the way.

We had our Sunday race, June 3, with the results as follows:

July 17th , 2007 will be the next race, with a skipper’s meeting at 1300 at the SBM. Saturday sunset race will be July 21 at 5pm. Please file your float plan with Harbor Control.
Cruise Chairman:
This month’s cruise director is Rick Goltz. Roi Regatta –is on September 9th. A cruise is planned for Nell Island on Labor Day.

A new addition has been added to our site, a second mailing list. This list is for Members Only and cannot be auto-subscribed to. If you want to be added to this list, send an e-mail to: webmaster@kwajyachtclub.com. This list will be used for communications that are to be restricted to members only,

Sunfish King, Monte Junker:
The Sunfish Regatta was attended by 89 people and a good time was had by all. The broken boat will be repaired. Will need volunteers for next Sunfish Regatta to be held in September.
OLD BUSINESS:
· There was a break-in last month and new locks and deadbolts are now in place.
· Thanks to all for their help with the sunfish regatta.
· We will be sponsoring 2 kids from Ebeye for the lunch program. July 17, 2007 we held a special Happy Hour to honor 7 past Commodore’s.
NEW BUSINESS:
· We now have a member’s only mail distribution list - info for members only!
· Moved container last night to a new boat lot. See Ed for more info.
· Brynn Lovato will coordinate next month’s meeting dinner. Please contact her if you would like to help.
· The Swashbuckler’s Ball will be on Oct.21st, 2007- early notice!
· Rick Goltz is currently working on the new revision of SPI 1091 in conjunction with the SBM. There are several issues regarding the SPI that effect sailors and Rick is working hard to address those issues with the SBM and Community Activities.
· Paul McGrew sent out an e-mail message warning boaters to stay away from working boats (LCM, Worthy, etc.) BEWARE! Watch the channels!
· Thanks to those who helped move the Jack-stands.
