KYC Commodore, Jim Stepchew:
Welcome to all new people, and new members.
Yeoman, Denise Dorn:
Reading of minutes from last month’s meeting was waived.
Vice Commodore, Mark Long:
Currently, we have 41 family memberships and 32 single memberships.
Purser, Denise Decoster:
We have approximately $16,000.00 in the bank. The Commodore’s Ball cost $2300.00. Our books were audited and we passed.
Quartermaster, Michael Nast:
We are well stocked. Reminder to come on down on Thursday afternoons and enjoy Happy Hour with a beautiful sunset over the lagoon.
Ship’s Store Report:
Not present.
Race Co-Chairman, Ed Zehr:
On April 1 we had eight boats racing, however 2 didn’t finish. Results:
Our first Saturday evening sunset race had only three boats participating and they finished:
Our next race will be on May 13, annual Mother’s Day Race!
The Skipper’s meeting will be at the small boat marina at 14:00.
Handicap: 1 minute per Mother aboard. There will be a band at Emon, so possibly a pot-luck (to be announced).
The next Saturday evening race will be May 17th. Start time-1700. Race sheets will be available at SBM. Be sure to file your float plan with harbor control.
Cruise Chairman of the Month, Kailuana:
Cruise to Nell planned for Memorial weekend. Contact Denise Dorn for details.
Webmaster, David Dethlefsen:
Check out our website. The calendar is up to date, and anyone can sign up if they would like to reserve the club for private use. Any new photos? Get them to Dave. Photos can be downloaded here at the Yacht club.
Our old hosting plan was upgraded to a better plan with more storage space, more transfer capacity, more e-mails, etc., etc., etc. This will require that the KYC website be transferred to a new server, so some time in May, the site will be unavailable for a day or two. An e-mail will be sent out prior to the transfer.
Sunfish King, Monte Junker:
Monte has been working on boats and one more is almost ready! Paul Snyder has offered to paint it.
June Sunfish Regatta is coming up on the 10th. SBM will give up Hobie’s for the event which will be from 10-2pm at Camp Hamilton beach, followed by some races. Mike Nast will take care of hotdogs, buns, etc. for the cookout. We need set-up crews at 9am and clean-up crews at 4pm, so please volunteer.
Until then, we will be working on boats and need volunteers, so please sign up! We have 5 boats to paint before the event.
