The Kwajalein Yacht Club met on Saturday, Jan.27, 2007, 6:30pm. 

KYC Commodore, Jim Stepchew:

First meeting of the year! Thank you to Mark for cooking on the grill. Welcome to all guests. The new executive board for 2007 was introduced.

Yeoman, Denise Spurlock:   

Minutes from the last meeting were waved. They are available on our web page.

Vice Commodore, Mark Long:

We currently have 183 members. If a membership card is needed, contact Mark.

Purser, Denise Decoster:

Not present, however our balance is approximately $11,000.00.

Quartermaster Michael Nast:

Thursday night is Happy Hour Night!

Ship’s Store:

Race Chairman, Bruce Premo: 

There will be a race next Sunday, Feb. 4th, with the skipper’s meeting at the marina at 1pm. Copies of 2006 races are available.

Cruise Chairman:

Thoughts on Cruise Director of the month, a new thing that Cheatham came up with, pick a month and a crew! The Goltz’s picked Sept. 

OLD BUSINESS

• We have two new boats in the water; Synergy and Down East Trader.
• Increase in price for membership dues was passed by the members.
• Get in the Mix went well.
• Parade of Lights Awards.

NEW BUSINESS

• Re-validated to USAKA for New Year
• Membership drive is under way
• The Commodore’s Ball is March 4- tickets on sale soon!
• Next meeting will be Feb. 27,2007
• Do we have a date for the Coconut cup?
• There will be a working party on Feb.12- Monday at KYC
• The dock has been re-built, and looks good for going in the water soon.
• DET says thanks to all who helped get her in the water!
