The Kwajalein Yacht Club met on April 27, 2006, 6:30pm.
KYC Commodore, Jim Stepchew:
Welcome to everyone, including visitors and guests.

Yeoman, Denise Spurlock:
Members waived reading of minutes
Vice Commodore, Mark Long:
Reported that we have 144 members at this time with 8 lifetime memberships. Membership cards are available.
Purser, Denise Decoster:
Reported that we currently have collected $1300.00 from ship’s store, $482.00 in memberships, and $630.00 from the Commodore’s Ball for a balance of $15,906.46
Quartermaster Jeff Griswold:
Jeff reported that we are $100.00-$200.00 ahead on beer, and he’s trying to encourage more people to come out for Thurs. happy hour by getting some games going; bocce ball, horseshoes, etc. We should consider a Jr. Sailing regatta possibly.
Ship’s Store report:
Rich reported that we have some new bags in with KYC Logo. Tonight’s special price, only $6.00!
Race Chairman, Bruce Premo:
4 boats raced last month. Next race is May14, Mother’s Day with bonus for the boats with the most mothers aboard. Skipper’s meeting will be at 1:30-2:00 pm
Cruise Chairman, Mike Cheatham:
Tomorrow is the cruise to Torruji with 4 boats going. If anyone is interested in going contact Mike Cheatham. May cruise is to Nell, leaving on May28th and returning May 30th
Webmaster, Dave Dethlefsen:
Reservation page is coming along nicely. Please check it out! We’re booked for May
OLD BUSINESS
Boat lot is available to use.
Coconut cup was held and a great time was had by all 12 members that attended. Fifteen boats enjoyed the race, with our own
Chili cook-off was held with the beer garden , raising $1800.00 for the swimming foundation
NEW BUSINESS
Jim suggested we might have a Sunfish regatta in June- need help putting them together; possibly on June 11th or 12th, with a band.
Work will commence on air conditioner. Anyone interested in helping, please be here at 1pm tomorrow.
Note: clubhouse will not be available for use during private functions, unless a KYC officer is present.
We received a letter from RMI Swim Federation asking for donations for the Micronesian games to be held in Saipan. There will be 10 swimmers and 2 alternates, all local kids. The cost is approximately $1000.00 per swimmer, with RMI pays airfare. Motion made to donate $1000.00, seconded and approved by unanimous vote.

Getting a team together for Relay for Life in Oct.
